Music and me
The first memories of music go
back to my childhood. I don't remember how old I was exactly when we drove to
the sea side acompanied by the melodies of Pink Floyd, Sting, Julio Iglesias,
Wille Nelson, Sheryl Crow, Vangelis, Enigma... At Christmases we had Enya. At
parties good old balkan music. Sunday mornings remind me of smooth jazz. Sunday
evenings of the radio show » Zivcki na paso« on radio Hit, when my parents did
the ironing and were preparing for the week ahead.
I had to get a bit older to enjoy
concerts. They opened a whole new world to me. All the visual pleasures that
they offer took me to another place each time.
In my teenage years I started listening
to whatever was popular. But that was a completely different feeling. It was
simple, fun and energetic. And at that age all you wanna do is have fun. But
when I needed a peace of mind I turned to Alicia Keys, Sade and Celine Dion.
Then I started following my
brother's band around. I think that's the most fun I had. Good music, awesome
people and concerts! Many spontaneous musical evenings at our house. The
atmosphere that they were able to portray was intoxicating. I tried to play an
instrument when I started grammar school, but we all realised that I should stay
on the receiving side.
Then another musical person
entered my life. This time I was privileged to on unfortunately rare occasions
hear, live in our living room, what a human voice can do. My sister in law
enabled me to experience another side of music.
I am so thankfull to my family for
introducing me to the best healer there ever was or will be. I truely believe
that I would forget a lot of amazing memories if they weren't somehow entwined
with music.
No matter where you are, what you
do, how many people you have around, music will always take you where you feel
content and safe.
